The Original Template

Compatibility: This template is available for Pro Tools only and isn’t compatible with other DAWs.

This template was a turning point in my career. It helped me work faster and get that clean, thick sound I’d been chasing. I relied on it for about six years, recorded and mixed thousands of songs with it, and still come back to it today.

I’m sharing it because of the difference it made in my own work. Now it’s in your hands.

What’s in the session

• Dedicated beat and recording tracks to start your session.
• Organized vocal tracks: an intro track, two hook tracks, two lead tracks, doubles, and ad-libs.
• Vocal processing chains with tuning, level control, compression, and channel-strip processing.
• Three vocal buses with additional processing inserts.
• A reverb return with multiple reverb options.
• Three delay returns: eighth-note, quarter-note, and half-note.
• Three creative delay returns with additional effects for texture and width.
• Special vocal effects channels: demon voice, fifth harmony, Studio D chorus, and Harmony Engine.
• A mix bus with processing inserts and a master track with loudness metering.
• A click track, color-coded layout, and session notes to help you find your way around.

Plugin requirements. This template uses plugins from multiple brands, including premium options that may be costly. Plugin licenses aren’t included. You can substitute plugins you already own.

This is my setup, but you can make it yours. Swap plugins, adjust the chains, and shape it around your sound.
