DECAY / REVERB TIME0.969 s

How long the reverb fades.

In your reverb plugin, enter 31.25 ms for pre-delay and 0.969 seconds for decay.

Adjust pre-delay & see the math

The default 1/64 note is a suggested short gap. It is not calculated from your delay setting. Try a shorter gap if the reverb feels detached.

Short uses a 1/4-note window, Balanced a 1/2-note window, and Long a one-bar window. We subtract pre-delay to suggest a decay time. These are musical starting points, not rules or a guaranteed cutoff for the tail.

Your delay and reverb are separate choices.

A 1/4-note delay doesn’t require a particular reverb length. Start with Balanced, listen in the mix, then shorten the decay if it feels washed out or lengthen it for more space.
